Every day, when I wake up, I’m so excited and feel fortunate to have this job! I get to spend some of my working weeks with children, teachers, parents, governors and PTA’s designing play spaces to promote learning. The rest of my time is spent as Managing Director, working with the other Directors and Colleagues to run the business.
I have worked in education for many years, initially as an Educational Psychologist and since 2006 I have been working with Schools and Nurseries to design outdoor learning opportunities for children. I see play as an integral part of children’s development, designing spaces where children can explore, create, solve and collaborate, is something I love to do. I really enjoy working with school councils, hearing all their ideas, especially when it’s a case of working together to choose what they would like to have installed into their playground and create a design of their ideas coming true.
Personally, I am also very passionate about health and fitness. I enjoy playing a range of sports, which is why I’m always keen to help schools create ball zones and trim trails, to improve the health and fitness of children. At school, I can vaguely remember being in lessons, but I can vividly recall school matches, PE and games lessons. I used to love break times, as I was able to run around and play sports with my friends without a care in the world.
All of us, here at Pentagon, want to help you create the best possible play environments, for the benefit of your children and we hope to be working with you soon.
