When I was younger, I wanted to be an Olympic sprinter. I used to make my mum stand outside for hours to record my 100m sprint times. I considered myself as pretty quick and was far too boastful about my ability to beat everyone (especially the boys). Karma soon came around and reality hit after a summer break that perhaps professional running wasn’t for me when everyone else returned to school about a foot taller with much longer legs.
PE and psychology were my favourite subjects at school. I loved being outside and playing team sports with my friends… the excuse to unleash my competitive side was also a bonus! I never considered myself to be very academic at school, but I really enjoyed psychology particularly learning about what influences our behaviours. I think this interest in the people around me is why I love working in human resources.
In my spare time, I love spending time outside doing pretty much anything active. I have three horses so spend a lot of my time looking after them (mainly shovelling their poo!). I also have two extremely lovable, but manic collies so enjoy taking them out on walks. Aside from the outdoors I love socialising with my friends, and I can usually be found at my local pub/bars on a Saturday night. I’m a bit of an adrenaline junky and one of my favourite places is the Nürburgring in Germany.
