I joined Pentagon Play in September 2017, having previously spent 5 years working with Primary Schools across Essex and Suffolk for a sports coaching company. During this time, I also graduated from the University of Essex with a Business and Sport Management Degree.
I’m extremely passionate about getting people outside and physically active! Supporting schools to develop education beyond the classroom has been at the heart of my career to date and my role at Pentagon enables me to combine this passion with my keen eye for detail and love of creativity to develop the very best outdoor learning environments for our next generation.
I love podcasts – my favourite (and the number one TED talk of all time!) is delivered by education and creativity expert, Sir Ken Robinson. He describes how a young girl, Gillian Lynne was brandished a disruptive child at school because she couldn’t sit still and her attention span was awful! Her parents were informed and she was ordered to visit the doctor! Dame Gillian Lynne is the world-famous choreographer of musicals including Phantom of the Opera and Cats and is today recognised as Broadway royalty. “She wasn’t a bad child, she was just born to dance!” This always makes me wonder, how many children out there need education beyond the four walls of their classroom to really experience success and fulfil their potential?
I can honestly say that I loved every minute of my time at school and now consider myself very fortunate to have a job where I can play a part in making thousands of other children’s experiences, even better!
Away from work, I am of course a massive football fan!
