Our second-biggest set, The Architect Set features both square and rectangle blocks for bigger and more complex trails and designs. Crafted from Accoya Timber, this long-lasting material comes with a 25-year guarantee, and has been designed to be completely weather-proof, facilitating outdoor play all year round. This larger set consists of 46 components which pupils can use to build their teamwork and turn-taking skills, as well as their communication and language as they develop their ability to verbalise their ideas. Whether working as a team or independently, pupils will develop core personal, social, and emotional skills that may have suffered during the pandemic. Pupils will be able to build their core problem-solving skills as they slot the components together using joints such as mortise and tenon, used in the construction industry to connect two materials together so they can create the ideas they have in their minds! This is also great for boosting creativity as they build their understanding of how they can make anything happen if they put their mind to it! Pupils will be able to explore their own potential as they refine their fine motor skills, such as grip and grasp, and then test their gross motor skills on the platform that they have invented. Pupils can practice their balance, become accustomed to different heights and inclines, and test their strength as they move the components. Children can also build their physical strength as they move the components around into their desired formation, using their spatial reasoning to decide where the parts fit best.
