Sensory Circuits Up Down Slide

Our Sensory Circuits Up Down Slide promotes self-regulation, exploration and mindfulness. As children use the Up Down Slide they can begin to learn to process what’s going on around them and begin to understand how to calm themselves when they are feeling overwhelmed or overstimulated in the playground.

Since the process of walking up the stairs and flying down the slide is a repetitive activity, children become prepared for learning and more focused back inside in the classroom: benefiting those who may struggle with retaining their attention in the teaching space.

Designed with a larger slide, children can be accompanied by carers, teachers and other members of staff. Alongside this, the stair access features handrails on either side, ensuring children safely climb the stairs to reach the raised platform.

Not only does the fantastic Up Down Slide present children with a calming and alerting play space, but it can also be transformed into a break-out space or imaginative den. Loose play resources such as blankets can be provided for children to thread through the den-making posts, featured on the platform: sparking creativity for imaginative play games or enabling children to take a breakaway in their own safe space, away from the busy playground.
