Every early years classroom should have a full set of blocks with storage shelves and plenty of space to build, rebuild and take inspiration from familiar structures. The Millhouse Block Play Unit allows children to imagine, plan and share their creations with friends. Problems can be solved and mathematical concepts relating to length, measurement, comparison and estimation can be explored. Blocks are made from high quality solid beech with rounded safety corners. The 6 block sets included in the unit are; 2 Rectangular Block Sets, 2 Triangle and Pillar Block Sets and 2 Multi-shape Sets. The tall storage unit is made from scratch-resistant maple melamine creating a durable, hard-wearing and easy to clean piece. A large shelf allows builds to be displayed or could store inspiration books and instruction manuals. A removable Velcro mirror is attached to the reverse of the unit which adds dimension and depth to constructive play. Children could use the mirror in many different ways such as stacking blocks on top of it to explore symmetry, shadows and cause and effect. This large collection of high-quality blocks of differing shapes and sizes allows children to develop both fine and gross motor skills as they combine and recombine pieces in countless ways.
