Following 5 simple steps, your class can be split into two groups to work together to transform the timber and bolts into a fantastic bench as this product includes two “build a bench” packages.

This is a fabulous final teamwork and problem-solving activity as they work together to follow the instructions, communicating clearly what they need to do with one another to complete their construction project.

Moreover, children will be able to practice their turn-taking skills and be introduced to the world of design and technology, STEAM, and STEM learning as they use real tools, such as Allen Keys and Mallets, to secure the bolts and pegs into place.

Once the benches have been built, children can sit back and relax, reminiscing on their primary school days after completing this fantastic confidence-boosting activity.

There are a number of options available to customise your schools Year 6 leavers benches, including:

• The backboard can be engraved with each of your classes names, so that younger students and staff will remember each child who passed through the school, after moving onto high school. Each backboard can hold approximately 30 names.
