Our Weaving Panel is a fantastic multi functional resource that further develops young children’s fine motor skills and contributes towards the expressive arts and design area of the curriculum in your outdoor learning environment.

As our Weaving Panel is double sided, there is plenty of space for multiple children to gather around the panel and weave at the same time. Providing colourful ribbon or string will encourage children to get creative and produce a lovely piece of artwork on their own or work together as a team on the same piece. Thin sticks, twigs and leaves found in the outdoor environment can also be used for weaving or try something different and tie materials to the top of the panel and challenge children to plait instead.

We have ensured that this excellent outdoor resource sits at the right height for EYFS children to reach the top of the panel so that they can easily participate in child led play along with adult led activities involving this stimulating panel. There is no worry about children using the panel during child led play as they won’t be out of the view of adults.

Weaving in groups enhances children’s social, teamwork, communication and language skills while further developing PSED. As children participate in exciting activities involving this panel, children will improve their fine motor skills, dexterity, hand eye coordination and concentration as they focus on the task at hand: creating a wonderful piece of artwork and developing important skills.
