Who will be the next Bob or Wendy the Builder? Children can enter a world full of construction and building with our new plywood skip filled with wooden construction blocks. Ideal for developing fine motor skills, children can learn to stack, construct, and create, improving their problem-solving skills and hand-eye coordination. Complete with in-built chalkboards on the panels, teachers and pupils can draw their very own blueprints and instructions to guide their building. Having a plan to follow will support pupils as they develop their organisation and preparation skills. Not to mention all the benefits that construction has to language and communication development. Children will learn how to communicate their thoughts and wishes to their peers and build those key socialisation skills for later life! Also, role playing construction with wooden blocks is instrumental in developing children’s spatial awareness. These skills will enable pupils to begin to understand their position relative to other items and the idea of directions and distance as they move the blocks. Whilst most children begin to develop these skills around 18 months, it is important to consistently support children as they grow with activities that challenge them to develop their spatial awareness skills.
