Teaching over 630 pupils in an academic year, Stamford Green Primary have helped thousands of children not only perform well in academic, but have helped children physically, mentally and emotionally develop into fantastic people.

Recently, the school built a 'Path of Adventures', which provides a plan to create many different activities on their enormous field (one of the many unique features at their school). Stamford want to help with the children's personal development skills and encourage physical activity, which led them to creating this fantastic plan!

Meeting The Customer

All the way back in 2017, we received an email from the school asking if we could help them with an EYFS project that they had planned. Due to the quality of our work, the school was highly impressed and joined the thousands of other satisfied customers that we've accumulated.

As time marched on, Stamford kept using us to help with a variety of other projects to help improve their play area by introducing new playground equipment. Every job that was handed to us was completed to the highest expectations, ensuring our relationship stayed strong and trustworthy.

Their Objectives

Stamford Green wanted to invest in a large, adventurous climber that would excite pupils and cater for whole classes. Our brilliant playground consultant, Donella Felton, knew exactly which piece would be the perfect starting point on the ‘Path of Adventures.’

Knowing that this climbing frame would be big in size, the school also wanted to explore safety surfacing options that would protect their pupils from serious injuries.

Our Approach

Being the UK's number one playground equipment supplier is no easy feat, as we've worked hard for over 25 years to perfect our processes.

From our friendly customer service team to our expert installers, we know how to complete a project in a quick and efficient way. From installing a classic climbing frame to a huge Play Tower, all of our play equipment and safety surfacing is always manufactured and installed in the best way possible.

Artificial Grass

Our amazing installation team worked hard to prepare the surfacing underneath the climber. Dynamic Play Baseworks provided a stable surface with a weed suppressant membrane. Having this membrane installed massively reduces the amount of maintenance required from Stamford, which allows them to focus on more important matters.

Drainage issues were resolved and then our ever-popular Playturf Artificial Grass with a Shockpad layer was installed. This created an extremely hard-wearing surface with a critical fall height (CFH) of 2.1m providing the upmost standards of safety. Pupils now have a lush, sensory surface on which to play, adding more play value to the area.

The Crinkle Crags Climber

The Crinkle Crags Climbing Frame is our biggest climber with numerous crossing and traversing points. Named after and inspired by the Crinkle Crags mountain fell in the Lake District, pupils feel like intrepid explorers as they scale new heights.

This huge frame comfortably accommodates up to 50 children (depending on age) allowing children to practise teamwork and communication skills. Built from high quality tanalised and pressurised timber, with a 15-year guarantee, this unique climber is certainly built to last, making it the perfect climbing frame for the 630 students who attend Stamford Green.

Pupils push themselves to try new challenges with support from their peers. Balance is required as children travel along the beams, building lower and upper body strength. Hand- eye coordination is needed to grip the supporting ropes which pupils at Stamford Green enjoy swinging and hanging from, building both fine and gross motor skills.

There is something for everybody on the Crinkle Crags, pupils may explore the beams, nets, climbing walls or grip ropes, progressing at their own level and setting their own boundaries. Whether beginner climbers or experienced pros, the climber caters for all! Stamford Primary loved this aspect of the climber as it allowed all ages to enjoy the new playground equipment.

The open-ended nature of the Crinkle Crags allows for plenty of creativity when devising imaginative play and role play scenarios. The area underneath the climber doubles up as a fantastic den making space in the fresh air. Other schools around have took notice of this versatile piece of play equipment.

The Results

It was wonderful to return to Stamford Green Primary to complete another successful project. Jo Lee, School Business Leader, helped to coordinate the project and was extremely pleased with the results. Jo praised our friendly, helpful installation team and would definitely recommend Pentagon Play to neighbouring schools.
