Located within the heart of Runcorn, Brookvale Nursery provides an outstanding level of childcare services for parents and guardians across the area. From helping children learn skills to support their self-care to encouraging children to make their own choices in their play and learning, it's no surprise why this nursery is so highly regarded.
Early Years Alliance, the largest early years membership organisation in England, has become well recognised for their strong understanding of early years education. Not only do they provide exclusive advice and training materials to over 14,000 members, but they also run around 40 nurseries across the UK; which includes Brookvale Nursery.
In recent times, Early Years Alliance made the choice to join the Pentagon Partnership programme offered to nursery operators and organisations. From this exclusive partnership, we have worked closely with the organisation to showcase our freestanding equipment available on our Online Shop. Another exclusive partnership perk we offer is the ability to test our latest playground equipment innovations, which Brookvale Nursery was more than happy to help with.
An Exclusive Product Testing Opportunity
Pentagon Play are always striving to be the most innovative and progressive company within the industry. From this strong desire, our talented product design team are always creating new and unique playground equipment that should revolutionise the way children engage in play.
Recently, the team finished the first product dedicated for the nursery market. Designed to help children improve their balancing skills whilst having fun, the Rockies is sure to shake up any playground it's placed on.
However, before we can launch a product, we always want to hear from the true experts of playtime and having fun. The children! We decided to approach one of the EYA nurseries for an exciting testing opportunity, Speaking to Val, the Early Years Alliance North-West area manager, about this exciting opportunity.
We enquired if Brookvale Nursery (a local setting to our Middlewich office) would be interested in testing the Rockies. Interested to learn more, Val passed over the opportunity to Mandy (the nursery manager for Brookvale Nursery) to decide.
Mandy quickly got back in contact with our digital sales team and expressed Brookvale's interest in participating in the product testing. After deciding on a date with Lucy Cooke, a member of our digital sales team, both Pentagon Play and Brookvale Nursery were excited to see the impact of the Rockies.

The Rockies
Focused on aiding in the development of upper & lower body strength, balancing skills and vestibular skills, the Rockies is sure to make an instant impact on any play area that it's placed on. Constructed from Stokbord and FIFA approved artificial grass, the Rockies is built to withstand even the most adventurous spirits. Whether it's poor weather conditions or constant usage, the Rockies is sure to last for years to come.
But, 'what makes the Rockies different from the average balance beam?' I hear you ask. Not only are the Rockies freestanding and incredibly easy to manoeuvre around any play area, but they provide children with multiple ways to engage with active play, no matter what their level of ability is.
Are your children still struggling to balance? Arriving with the set, two wooden poles can be slotted between the blocks to create a strong support system for children to assist themselves when they are traversing the hovering board.
Wanting to add more to the experience? Attach the ramp piece to the structure and provide your children with an additional challenge to overcome. Whether they climb the ramp to start their journey or slide down it to victory, the ramp can help your little adventurer develop a variety of physical skills and behaviours.
How can we forget to mention the unique rocker blocks!? From being used as chairs for a rest to being used as surfboards, the rocker blocks can be used in a variety of ways by your little ones. Play time will never be the same as the Rockies will take your active play provisions to the next level.

The Results
After speaking to the children and staff, it was clear to see how loved the Rockies was. From it's unique and eye-catching design to the multiple ways to play with the equipment, everyone was a fan of this play equipment.
We noticed that the children loved breaking down the Rockies into it's individual rocker blocks to practice their balancing skills and improve their core strength. Not only were they developing a variety of vital physical skills, but they were having lots of fun.
Due to the unique design, the staff were quick to point out how the children could easily engage in imaginative play and role play, further enhancing playtime. Through all of these methods of play, children can fully immerse themselves in playtime and reap all of the benefits.
At the end of the testing session, we saw how much Brookvale Nursery loved the equipment and how big of an impact it had on playtime. Knowing this, we decided to gift the equipment to Mandy and her fabulous team to show our appreciation for allowing us to use their setting for the product testing.
Mandy was over-the-moon with this news and was incredibly thankful for the kind donation. As we were leaving, Mandy started introducing the entire nursery to the equipment and as we left the setting, we could hear the sound of laughter and cheers in the distance.
We hope that Brookvale Nursery continues to provide fantastic childcare for the children of Runcorn and that Early Years Alliance carries on delivering industry-leading early years care and information for thousands of parents, guardians and carers across England.
