Meeting The Customer

We received a call from Sophie Whitby, a trustee of the Village Hall. During this call, Sophie mentioned how her daughter went to Ivy Lane Primary, a school which Pentagon Play had worked with before.

"Pentagon Play are easy to keep in contact with and they explain everything really well. I would highly recommend them."

- Sophie Whitby, Trustee of the Langley Burrell village hall Committee

She quickly found out that the Trim Trail we installed was a huge hit with the kids! Not only were the kids and parents in love with the Trim Trail, but Ivy Lane Primary recommended us to Sophie, believing our quality of service was unmatched. Hearing this, she quickly called us and began the journey to creating a fantastic play area with us.

Their Objectives

Langley Burrell village hall wanted to create an environment where the local children could explore and engage in active play in a safe manner. They wanted a piece of equipment that would instantly get the attention of children and encourage active play.

At the time, the Village Hall didn't have any play equipment installed. It was important that the new piece of play equipment would capture the imaginations of the local children and get them engaging with the new play facility.

Due to how popular our Trim Trail was with the kids at Ivy Lane Primary School, the Village Hall really wanted to incorporate this fantastic piece of equipment on their play area. Langley Burrell Council had given the Village Hall some funds to acquire equipment similar to Ivy Lane Primary School's Trim Trail.

Our brilliant playground consultant, Donella Felton, was excited to bring this goal to life and help the Village Hall create a play area for the local children of Langley Burrell.

The Wistman's Forest Trim Trail

Being made from 5 unique components, the Wistman's Forest Trim Trail was one of Pentagon Play's most exciting pieces of active play equipment! The reason we say 'was' is due to how we are always looking to improve our play area equipment and decided to revamp the Trim Trail range.

Kids are crossing the wooden balance beam as they hold on to other wooden poles for support. All 4 of the children are smiling and having fun as they navigate the obstacle course. Trees and natural grass can be seen surrounding the area..

This revamp led us to redesigning a lot of our older Trim Trails (like the Wistman's Forest Trim Trail) to be even more innovative and challenging. When we released the brand new Trim Trail range, we decided to stop manufacturing the original Trim Trail range and provide our customers with the latest and greatest play equipment on the market.

However, this doesn't mean that the Wistman's Forest Trim Trail wasn't a great piece of play equipment. Creating a sense of adventure, this Trim Trail is fantastic for keeping kids engaged and physically active through a variety of different challenges.

Knowing how important promoting physical activity was to Langley Burrell village hall, the Wistman's Forest Trim Trail helps to promote a child's physical development with the different activities offered. Whether they're jumping across the stepping logs or balancing across the tightrope bridge, the local children of Langley Burrell are sure to get an adventure from this piece of play equipment.

A group of 4 children are playing on the step rope traverse piece of equipment. The kids are smiling and looking in all directions as 2 trees can be seen behind them with two pieces of play equipment on either side.

Not only will the Wistman's Forest Trim Trail improve the children's physical development, but it will also help with cognitive development. As children navigate their way through this magnificent Trim Trail, they'll be using problem solving skills and logical thinking to tackle each challenge presented to them. Seeing how much the Village Hall cared for developing their local children, we knew that this Trim Trail would be the perfect addition.

Langley Burrell is a small village, meaning that it's important for it's residents to know each other and get along, including the children. However, with this Trim Trail, the children will naturally be put into situations where they'll have to use social and communication skills to advance through the course. The Village Hall want to create a sense of unity and teamwork within the village and this piece of play equipment is a great way to get children to work together and learn more about their neighbours.

With a fall height of 0.6m, this Trim Trail is suitable for children of all ages to enjoy and play with, giving them a chance to try new things and engage in a safe form of risk play. Through this type of play, children can learn more about the world that surrounds them and how they can navigate it, helping them prepare to tackle new challenges.

The Results

After a few months had passed, we had the pleasure of returning to the Village Hall to see how the new play equipment was performing. Instantly, we saw a lot more faces around the Village Hall as parents were now engaging with the community as their children were playing on the equipment.

4 children are stood on the balancing beam and are looking at the camera and smiling. You can see the rope traversal equipment, with a big tree and bench behind them.

The Langley Burrell village hall told us how the Wistman's Forest Trim Trail had brought the community together again and had allowed new faces to introduce themselves to the committee and get involved in community activities. It's fair to say that the Trim Trail has had a huge impact for the Village Hall.

"We're meeting new people, seeing new faces and most importantly, bringing the community together again!"

- Katerina Johnstone, Chair of the Langley Burrell village hall Committee

Of course, we can't forget about the kiddies! We were amazed to see so many children engaging with the new equipment and making new friends. Using their imagination and creative skills, the kids found it easy to escape into new and exciting worlds, helping them engage with play on a deeper level.
